The Meat Snack Pack

We hear so much about the culture of snacking on biscuits and crisps, or, in my case, Scotch eggs, but of course what we should all be doing is snacking on meat! Fast, protein-rich and moreishly tasty, get your snack-chops around these bad boys:

  • Pack of 12 Beer Sticks, from Moons Green in Sussex

John and Jose mince free range pork shoulder from locally sourced pigs, season it with a healthy shake of Malawian chilli, pepper and curing salt, then stuff the mix into thin, natural casings. They’re dried for a week or so, and consumed in seconds. A perfect snack. Watch out for the chilli tickle.

  • 80g of biltong, from Limpopo in London

Our biltong is made by a South African, so there’s an air of authenticity, but he makes it in West London with brilliant British beef.

  • 50g of jerky from Cowley’s Fine Food in Wales

Martin’s jerky is marinaded for 12 hours in sea salt, pepper and cayenne pepper before being dried. It is then smoked over oak chips to get a truly superb flavour.
